| 1 C Brown Sugar |

| 2 1/4 C flour |
| 2 t baking soda |
| 1/4 t salt |
| 1/2 t cloves |

| Descriptions |
| 'Mix shortening,molasses,sugar and egg. Sift together and stir in remaining ingredients. Chill dough and roll into balls. Dip in sugar and drop 2-3 drops of water on cookies. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.' |
