| 'This is a typical ''Alison'' Recipe because it''s just a guide and you should feel free to change ingredients as you see fit! Brown the beef (or lamb if you want to be more traditional) with the onion,carrot and garlic. You could also add celery if you like it. When it''s mostly done add the oregano and Thyme- depending on the age of your spices you will need to add more or less,but at least a heaping teaspoon of each- probably more. Add salt and pepper to taste and drain if necessary. Add in the gravy and corn and peas,again feel free to change out the veggies- green beans would be good too. Layer the meat mixture in the bottom of a 9x13. With the mashed potatoes you can either mix the cheese in or just put it on top. Either way,spread the potatoes on top of the meat and top with cheese. Bake covered in a 350 degree oven for at least 30 minutes and I''d put a cover on it except for the last 10 minutes or so. It really just has to be heated through since you already cooked t |
