| 2 1/4 cup flour |
| 1/2 cup sugar |
| 4 t baking powder |
| 1/4 t salt |
| 1/8 t nutmeg |
| 1/2 cup butter |
| 1 beaten egg |
| 1/3 cup milk |
| Strawberries sliced |
| Sugar for strawberries (optional) |
| Descriptions |
| Mix all dry ingredients, then cut in butter. Add liquids and stir till just blended. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes. Mix berries and sugar. Serve over shortcake- add cool whip if desired. |
